Black & Gold

I am back from my holidays with a tan as souvenir, time for gold…

I have never been to keen on gold but this is changing maybe because I love it paired with black. Also I realized that having a warm undertone in my skin gold actually looks really good on me!

These are a few things I have been wearing lately:

Dolce Vita sandals, gold looks amazing over tanned skin, these t shaped leather sandals are understated and elegant for summer nights.

Primark earrings, I don’t usually find anything I like at Primark but I loved these and for 3€ you can´t go wrong.

Bulgary Jasmin Noir, I love Bulgary’s perfumes, this has an strong licorice smell and for some reason I find it very appropriate for summer hot nights. Also I adore the packaging : )

Finally my cheap take for the House of Harlow necklace. I had this on sale for 3€, yes I am a cheap accessories person.

What color pairings are you wearing lately?

I haven’t worn a pair of sneakers for another thing apart from going to pilates for a long time. I really wanted some for everyday use and when I saw this collaboration between Adidas and Oysho I thought that was it. But this month I already had bought Hope Grace Boots  and even on sale there were expensive so my boyfriend, who is a fervent Adidas lover, bought them for me : ) Love them, thank you!!

Following new year resolutions

At the beginning of the year I said I would give a try to incorporate red to my closet and I bought a pair of red jeans. Then I thought it would be nice to have a plaid shirt and I bought one on sale (here with dark blue jeans, here with grey jeans). I already wore the red and plaid together, with a jumper on top, but I think this is the combination I like most.

I was waiting for my grey t shirt to have this outfit complete, I didn’t have any… I maybe get bored of wearing the same shirt over a over again but for the moment I don’t : ).

To add a little more red I got this bag from Zara as a late Xmas present. Wearing my American Apparel gray t shirt, cropped skinnies from Zara and Stradivarius pumps.

My inner french

O should I say my inner swedish? Because this outfit may look french with stripes and cropped trousers but it’s mostly swedish.

Wearing my new Hope Grace boots, cropped skinnies from Zara ( I am spanish after all…), Cos stripped  top and black cardigan from H&M. Also the snood, not seen here, is from H&M.  I haven’t been in Sweden but I would love to go, I have been in many places around Europe but in Northern Europe I have only been in Denmark…maybe this summer I can go shopping to all these swedish labels I love.

Plaid, again

Making the shoe post make me think about the shoes I not wearing but I would like to keep. Below ones are keepers, nice work out style lace boots with a high heel. They were a hand me down from my sister, she can’t wear heels, but she liked the style and bought them. They are slightly big for me, I should add them an insole if I want to wear them more often.

Finally I bought Hope Grace boots , a) because I love the plain, classic design, b) because they were on sale and c) because they were on sale half price. So now I am thinking on getting rid of something so I can keep my magic number of 20 pairs : )

Love this shirt, love these jeans and this t shirt

Cold & Shoes

It’s really cold today, so layers.

Skinnies Zara Top H&M Cardigan H&M Turtleneck New Look Boots Sam Edelman

Last year, about this time, I decided enough was enough. I couldn’t fit any more shoes in my closet but I didn’t have anything to wear…So I started culling my shoe collection. A year later I sold 14 pairs of shoes, give a couple to my sister and put around 8 in the bin. That’s more or less 24 pairs.

I bought three pairs of boots, the Sam Edelman black ones I wear almost every day,  a pair of flat ones, and these ones. Two pairs of flat sandals, black and gold. A pair of wedged sandals  and a pair of red espadrilles. A pair of Repetto flats (I had another one as present from my boyfriend). And two pairs of black shoes, including these ones.

A couple of things I bought last year didn’t worked out and I sold them (including these wedges, too high), but most of them had been used on daily basis.

These make 11 pairs, I will have to add three more pair of boots, two pairs of trainers and two pairs of flip flops, a pair of shoe boots and another pair of peep toe shoes (that I don’t think will last another summer). The grand total including trainers and flip flops is 21 which is less than the number I culled…These means I downsize to less than half.

I have forbidden myself from buying any more shoes, I only bought the black ones because I didn’t have any classic black shoes I could use for interviews or a wedding. This one was my only pair in six months and probably will be the only one for a year. I think 20 pairs of shoes is enough so I won’t buy any new ones unless any of them get broken.

New things

I am not wearing this today, actually I wore something similar to this this morning, but I thought I will be good to show you my new things all together. These are the clothes and shoes I bought this month that weren’t on sale.  I got money as Xmas presents as I said and I went a bit crazy with shopping…

Finally the red skinnies I have talk about over and over again. This outfit looks quite similar to the Mango look actually…I got them in Topshop, it’s a new color for the spring and since I have them in blue  and grey and I have been wearing them a lot I thought it would work to buy another pair. On top of that I think this tone of red is just perfect. I quite like Topshop jeans, I bought another pair on sale, the Jamie , similar to this one but in dark denim. It hasn’t arrive yet, was 15GBP, which is good, let’s see…

You have seen this top before, in fact, this outfit is very similar to that one…Anyway I love it, I think I am going to wear it a lot.

The shoes; I have been looking for a wearable and dressy pair of black shoes for agessssss, they all are or too high or too low, or too expensive, or too granny or just plain crap. I saw these on Stradivarius and I really liked them. I wanted to add the link but apparently they are sold out online, they are not leather but they look quite good. I thought I liked more the round toe but this pointy toe it’s just lovely.

I love tights, I have many, so many I have told myself I can’t buy anymore this year, maybe even next year. The thing is I buy many but I don’t use all of them. I am very picky and I think tights is something you have to invest money in, because if they are cheap they are not going to be comfy therefore you are not going to wear them, or they are going to break easily. Both scenarios are a waste of money, something I don’t have right now.

While I was in London I bought this pair in M&S, the reviews are all true, these are my first pair of cashmere blend tights and they are really amazing. The fit, the quality, washing after washing, the softness and they are so warm… I am sad I only bought a pair, I maybe buy another online. I have been wearing non stop since I bought them.

Top M&S Skirt Forever21Boots Sam Edelman

I can get enough of these bodycon skirts, they are so easy to wear. Last Friday I had the same outfit but with my stars H&M skirt  and my shoe boots for a salsa night out with friends. Talking about shoes boots, I am in love with these ones  from Pull&Bear, I tried them on last week and they have the perfect heel, comfortable but really dressy. I ´ll wait if they go on sale, and then I maybe get these ones too.

I bought these boots last spring at Massimo Dutti .

I was looking for a low heel leather bootie in other color than black. These were within my budget and the leather was really soft, I tried them on and walked home with a new shoe box.  Soon I realized that the heel was too high. I went to the cobbler and he chopped a bit off.

It was only 1’5 cms but they are much more walkable now. I can wear them with every single piece of clothing I own. As you can see the top as well.

Shorts: Zara Trafaluc Top: H&M Trend KnitPull&Bear Wedges Berskha

I realized that I wear  my shorts a lot, even though I only have 3, the one in the top, boyfriend from Zara, the diy white ones and the H&M black shorts. I should buy some more, I would like a more tailored black one and maybe a darker denim wash. I also wear skirts and dresses, much more than a few years ago. The reason, apart from  Madrid´s hot  summer weather, is that a couple of years I decided I was tired of depilation and I invested in laser hair removal. It was expensive, but really well expended. Now I don´t have to care about how my legs look like, I just put my shorts on and go.

The other thing I realized is I don´t wear these wedges, I think they are just to high for me, I love the look but I would like them more if they were lower. There is nothing I can do about that so I am going to sell them. If you are interested please check my shop.
