Classic pumps

Meet my new kitten heels from Nine West.

These last two years I have been editing my shoe collection, last year update here . Even now it’s a work in progress, I have sold 18 pairs, I have 5 for sale right now and around 10 went to the bin. I did have many heeled shoes I couldn’t wear because they were too high and I have bad ankles. I loved most of them but if I could’t use them what was the point…Anyway, I had to change my mind and way of shopping shoes:

Buy less, that’s a tough one because I love shoes!

Buy sensible shoes, no high heels. Shoes I use on regular basis.

Also if something doesn’t work for me sell it, keep only things that I wear. Less things better quality, there is no magic number but around 15 pairs should be enough. I will post the updated collection soon.

So last year I bought two pairs of booties (black leather and brown suede, both on sale!) and I use them all the time. A pair of sandals that were thrashed after the summer and a pair of black pumps I  needed for a wedding. I think I have worn these about three times, for the wedding obviously and a couple more. They are uncomfortable as hell and very low quality. The problem is that I need a pair of black pumps but I not going to use them a lot so I don’t want to spend lots on them…and I have been looking for a nice comfortable pair, not expensive, black suede pointed pair of heels for a while. First I tried this pair from Zara, bad idea, Zara’s shoes are too narrow and too hard for my feet, they went back.

So here is when Nine West came on, I saw them on a private sale and they were around the same price of the Zara’s. I thought I will give them a go…and they are lovely. The quality is not amazing but they are much better  than Zara. Some people hate kitten heels but I find them quite nice, they are high enough to give the lift to the legs and you can walk like wearing a flat shoe.

A bit of toe cleavage.

Nails of the week

Red nails this week, Bourjois 1 second nail polish in rouge cerise (discontinued). Two coats, natural light, it’s a little bit darker than it shows. Beautiful cream color, it has a massive brush I am still getting used to.

Winter Skincare

Bearing in mind the weather we have now I guess is not too late for a winter skincare post. You can see the summer one here.

Winter is more demanding on the skin, cold and wind dehydrated it, so the main thing is get the moisture back.

Clean, I still use Bioderma Hydrabio Lait  for remove my daily makeup, they just have changed the packaging which is good because this one is bigger than the old one at the same price! At the shower I am using Shiseido Perfect Whip ,  I am not sold on it, I find it to harsh on my skin. I forgot to include it in the pic : (

Moisturize, I am currently using Jouer luminizing moisture tint, that has 20SFP, so I use Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream  for day and night. Korres yogurt one is too light for the winter.

Over the winter my skin needs extra moisture so I change the Avene water for the Hadalabo Super Hyaluronic Acid Lotion.

As my eye cream I am currently using Korres evening primrose one, apparently the changed the packaging in this as well…It’s keeps the under eye hydrated and is not too heavy.

Extras, Esthederm L’ Osmoclean Gentle Pore Cleanser, as it ‘s name says is a soft pore cleanser, I don’t like exfoliate my skin because is very harsh but I still need help to remove the dirt in my pores, this cleanser, used once a week, does the job. And after that I add moisture with Korres yogurt mask. I am kind of obsessed with yogurt base skincare so I bought Laneige Multiberry Yogurt Repair pack  to try next.

Most of the times my style is boring and predictable, jeans, shirt, sweater and boots. But that is just the way I like it, maybe it’s that I will be 40 in a few months and the only thing I want now it’s being comfortable with what I wear.

In reality I have never been very adventurous with clothes, every time I decided to incorporate something “different” in my closet ended in the bin, in my sister’s or in ebay…that was the consequence of taking into account people’s advice : you should wear more color”…wrong! I should wear whatever I want to wear. That’s the reason why I hate those body types clothing guides, you  have an apple body so should wear a line skirts, no!!! I don’t want to wear what’s more flattering for me, I want to wear what works best for me, what I like to wear, not what people think I should wear. I am don’t mind if that is boring…

Stripes 2.0.

This COS t shirt is the perfect stripped shirt, 100% pima cotton, mine is size L so I can lay shirts underneath.

It so good I needed to buy another one, the one in the pics is white with thin navy stripes, the new one here is white with larger grey stripes.

The last thing, the price is also perfect 19€ : )

This is me 95% of winter days, add parka on top.

Jeans Topshop Top Cos Boots Zara Cardigan H&M

This is what I wear when I don’t want to think about what to wear,  when I think I don’t have anything to wear…because I know for sure this will work, I will feel good wearing this, jeans, top, cardigan and boots wining combination. That’s why basics are so good, because you can mix and match them endless times and even if most of your clothes are in the washing you still have something easy to wear, without thinking, uniforms: a full proof formula…I love it. And love my nails.

Inspiration – Rooney Mara for Vogue

Love Rooney Mara’s makeup  in this editorial. Strong brows, contoured face and barely there lips and eyes. My take below:

Chanel Notorious for contouring face and the eyes socket. I am not a person that fells in the wagon of “limited edition” but as soon as I saw this I knew it was going to work on me, and  I love it! I use for the face with Hakudodo 210 and eyes Hakuhodo 5523.

Tarte Amazonian clay waterproof brown liner  is darker than my other pencils and works best for stronger brows.

Benecos natural lipstick adds just a bit of color , BDIH certified feels very moisturizing in my lips and has a very good price.

Lancome Hypnose star mascara

Slowly coming back to see if I can do something with this blog : )

After black grey comes closely into my favorite colors. And as always is easy to dress all in one color, no brainer.

The sweater is from JCrew on sale, the jeans Topshop (always), snood H&M (men) and boots Zara last summer sales, I know boots on sale in summer?
