Vacaciones

Vacaciones
It´s that time of the year, I am going to Ibiza for a week and this is what I am going to take with me :
3 shorts, 2 skirts, 3 dresses, 3 tanks, 5 t shirts, 2 pairs of flip flops, a pair of flat sandals and a pair
of wedges. Also 2 necklaces, the beach bag and an small clutch. Mostly black and white as usual,
easier to coordinate breezy things, no jacket needed.

Back in black

I can help it, I love an all black outfit like this so that’s what I wear today. Even my camera is black.

I have been looking for a pair of white jeans for ages, I tried thousands…well maybe just hundreds…no luck. I am thinking on buying this pair from Asos which should be the same as the ones I am wearing in this picture but probably they aren’t. If I finally find a pair I will go for an all white like this one.

Monochrome

Outfits that layer the same color in different hues are easy. Color blocking it’s much more complicated to get it right. I have done many times monochrome outfits, gray + gray + gray is a no brainer but looks  good.

I bought these leggings last year but I couldn’t figure out how to wear them. Now I do…

The Dragon Tattoo Collection: Trish Summerville X H&M

The Dragon Tattoo collection is the last H&M collaboration. I usually pass these H&M designer associations but Trish Summerville’s clothes got my interest. The collection is for sale in only a few stores and is inspired by the american movie version of the Stieg Larsson book “The men who didn’t love women”. Thris Summerville is the clothing designer in the movie.

 Via H&M

On Saturday after reading Miss Sophie’s opinion about the collection I went to the shops selling it. There is not much publicity around it unlike any other H&M collaboration. There are only a few stalls in the Divided section and not many people looking at them. Maybe is a collection that is not appealing to so many people.

I tried a few things and I lover them, the quality is really good for the price. The leather jacket is gorgeous but I wasn’t looking for one, I was looking for a replacement for my grey cardigan, so I bought this…

The cardigan is like a knit hoodie with draped sides, it has a big safety pin so it can be pinned in one side. You can find it also in maroon I loved it also but grey was more suitable for me.

Skirts

Apart from skinnies fitted skirts are another staple in my closet. I use longer lengths for work and shorter for casual. I prefer cotton because they look less bulky on me, I already have hips, I don’t need anything else attached.I love stripped shirts (I have three) and neutral colors (grey, black, beige).

First the work wear version, with all grey and silver flats.

The weekend version, you can see I can wear color! I like dark pink and red.

I am still going bare legs, but these two outfits go easily with tights.

Outfit 13

Say hello to my crappy pictures from yesterday’s outfit. At least my bed was done and you can see my lovely rug from Urban Outfitters. Maybe it’s just the outfit number…

This is more or less my uniform these days. We are still living in summer in Madrid, but it gets chillier at nights, that’s the reason for the jacket and boots.

I just realized that the jacket and the jeans are my mum’s last year and this year birthday presents, she always give me some money for clothes, she thinks that’s the best I can spend her money in…

I think everybody has this H&M parka in green, but I hate green and I love black, so black parka.

Outfit 10

It´s getting chillier in the mornings, now that I have mastered my summer clothes I have to start all over again with fall. This outfit is transitional, a summer top and wedges with fall cardigan and skinnies.

Black skinnies:  Topshop Knit: H&M Top: Zara Trafaluc (also  Wedges : no name (also here)

These jeans have a really good fit and they are comfortable to wear but the quality is not as good. They are loosing color,  maybe is that I wash them too much. Anyway, they are to thin for the winter so I am going to leave them soon till the spring and and I am going to buy the Cheap Monday. This will be the second time I buy a pair, but this is another history I will tell you when I get them.

Still purging my closet, yesterday was cardigans. I really like this one, even if I need to iron it….is light weight cotton. I can’t stand wool, I have very sensitive skin, good for me as cashmere is so expensive. Merino it’s not too bad, but I prefer cotton cardigans. They are not as cozy in the winter so I just need to add more layers.

Outfit 9

Shorts: Zara Trafaluc Top: H&M Trend KnitPull&Bear Wedges Berskha

I realized that I wear  my shorts a lot, even though I only have 3, the one in the top, boyfriend from Zara, the diy white ones and the H&M black shorts. I should buy some more, I would like a more tailored black one and maybe a darker denim wash. I also wear skirts and dresses, much more than a few years ago. The reason, apart from  Madrid´s hot  summer weather, is that a couple of years I decided I was tired of depilation and I invested in laser hair removal. It was expensive, but really well expended. Now I don´t have to care about how my legs look like, I just put my shorts on and go.

The other thing I realized is I don´t wear these wedges, I think they are just to high for me, I love the look but I would like them more if they were lower. There is nothing I can do about that so I am going to sell them. If you are interested please check my shop.

Outfit 3

Shorts again, It´s really hot in Madrid these days. As I said here, I will try to wear them as much as I can. An easy, basic, summery outfit, just what I like.

T shirt: H&M Trend Shorts : Zara Trafaluc Flats : Repetto via Mytheresa.com

My beloved Repetto flats, one of the things I bought on sale this summer along with the Equipment shirt . I am in love with them, silver is perfect for the summer (with dark ones feet get really hot!) and they are so comfortable…

I was so into them that I started to look into the black ones, they are the perfect black leather ballet shoes (this is as important as the perfect black handbag ), but they never go on sale, so my boyfriend give them to me to my birthday, lucky girl.

Even the box is beautiful, sleek black outside, pastel soft pink in the inside. I am planing to redo my shoes closet with matching shoe boxes, and these are the only ones I am going to leave. He also ordered this from Mytheresa.com, they are really quick and we also take advantage of the free shipping. I think they have one of the best selection in Repetto in Europe and good sales.

Once I have these two pairs I purged my shoes and all my ballet flats were gone, about 5 pairs, the were low quality and they have been used a lot. I think from now on I am going to develop a collection in Repetto flats, if you see any on sale size 40 just tell me!

One thing about sizes, as most of ballet flats, these runs small, they have half sizes, but I prefer to go up a size. The leather stretches really nice to hug your feet.

These shoes are expensive, about 160€, but they are high quality and you can also take them to the shoe repair to get them mended. They have a sole, not as many cheap ballet flats that it looks like your are walking on the pavement! For me they are an investment, I will take care of them and make them last.
